It appears that the Evil Empire of the Koch brothers--those captains of industry who are bankrolling a litany of right-wing causes, including the Tea Party--have finally been caught with their hands in the till, among other things, and could well be going the way of Rupert Murdoch.
You can read about the latest revelations from Bloomberg here. This is from the report: "A Bloomberg Markets investigation has found that Koch Industries -- in addition to being involved in improper payments to win business in Africa, India and the Middle East, -- has sold millions of dollars of petrochemical equipment to Iran, a country the U.S. identifies as a sponsor of global terrorism." There's a good bit more, as well.
All of this brings up the question: Will 9th District Congressman Morgan Griffith, who doesn't even live in the 9th District (he lives in Salem), suffer from his affiliation with the Koch boys? This is from a Los Angeles Times look at the Koch brothers recently: "Rep. Morgan Griffith of Virginia, won a long-shot bid to unseat a 14-term moderate Democrat [Rick Boucher] with help from [the Koch's] Americans for Prosperity, which marshaled conservative activists in his district. By some estimates, the advocacy group spent more than a quarter-million dollars on negative ads in the campaign. 'I'm just thankful that you all helped in so many ways'" Griffith told an Americans for Prosperity rally not long after his election."
